Counseling + talk therapy at CHC in NYC
Counseling can help you tackle complicated life situations
We recognize that making the decision to seek help is not your first step but perhaps has been a thought that you have been contemplating for some time. The decision to come and seek counseling – either for yourself or for your child or adolescent – is not always an easy one, but it can be an exciting time and an opportunity to change your life.
Changing your life, within specific complicated life situations that might be present, is the main reason people come to talk with a psychotherapist. Perhaps you feel life is overwhelming and experience anxiety, too much sadness, feel confused, feel angry, feel depressed or you just simply feel really stuck and don’t know where to turn. Of course we all want these difficult feelings and thorny life situations to just go away. Unfortunately, it usually does not happen that they will disappear on their own. Those situations need your help to shift and change at your direction – with what you want for yourself and in your life.
If you are ready to tackle problems that have been challenging for you, we can help.
The road to emotional well-being
In our private and confidential offices we will meet and talk about what’s bothering you and how you have been managing your life – so far. It is our job to be with you and listen carefully as we support your life transition and come up with techniques and strategies that can help you feel more protected and safe, contented and pleased. You will learn about your emotional patterns, what they mean, what is the impact of people, places and situations in everyday life. You will become more aware of your tricky negative reactions and come to believe that they can shift and you can become a healthier and happier person with a strong sense that there is no emotional experience that you cannot handle.
The path is not always easy but with the compassionate therapeutic counseling that you will find here, the path can be an inspiring and motivating course. We will always work with you, our clients, to determine the best road back to emotional well-being.
