Audiologists from the Center for Hearing and Communication have been on the go, sharing expertise and gaining fresh insights at two major industry conferences this March.
NYSSLHA Conference, White Plains, March 20-22
Michele DiStefano, AuD, CCC-A, and Nicole Genser, BA, represented CHC at the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) Conference, March 20-22. Dr. DiStefano, an NYSSLHA Board member and VP for Audiology, played a key leadership role, while Nicole took the spotlight with a poster presentation on empowering clinicians with hearing loss—an important topic for ensuring quality patient care.

Commenting on the opportunity, Nicole shared this: "Presenting this work nationally in the past has been valuable, but sharing it at the state level allowed me to bring it closer to the community I work in. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect directly with local professionals, empowering them to apply these findings or pass along within their networks to those who might benefit."
AAA Conference, New Orleans, March 26-29

The learning and sharing continued at the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) Conference where Nicole was joined by Dominique Calandrillo, AuD, CCC-A. Nicole gave a well-attended lecture at AAA, while Dr. Calandrillo explored the latest innovations in her specialties, tinnitus and pediatric audiology—with a special focus on aided cortical testing. This is a new testing procedure now available at CHC that assesses how amplified sound reaches the auditory cortex, making it a game-changer for infants and for individuals of any age with neurological impairments.
These conferences are invaluable for keeping CHC at the forefront of audiology advancements—and we’re excited to bring this knowledge back to our clients! Stay tuned for more insights and takeaways from our team.
