Thank you for making The 21st Annual Feast a success!
Everyone agrees this year’s Feast was the best yet! Incredible chefs… spectacular wines (2004 Leoville Las Cases, anyone?)… and one-of-a-kind-prizes in the live and silent auctions. As always, we saw a great turnout of NYC’s community of newscasters, including the evening’s host Bill Ritter of Channel 7, Eyewitness News.
It’s not too late to make a Feast donation. All proceeds support the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC) and our services that transform the lives of people with hearing loss and auditory challenges,

NEW YORK’S TOP CHEFS, BROADCASTERS, AND WINE SPECTATOR JOIN THE CENTER FOR HEARING AND COMMUNICATION AT THE 21ST ANNUAL FEAST NOVEMBER 3RD AT PIER SIXTY, CHELSEA PIERS
NEW YORK/October 28, 2014 – The 21st Annual Feast, a dazzling food and wine tasting extravaganza benefiting the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC), will take place at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in New York City November 3rd at 6:00PM and will celebrate CHC’s life-affirming services that empower people with hearing loss and auditory challenges to Connect to Life®. For 104 years, CHC has transformed lives through unsurpassed hearing healthcare and a steadfast commitment to public education for the purpose of removing the stigma associated with hearing loss. A defining moment at the Feast will be the presentation of the Edward Nitchie Award in Communications (named after CHC’s founder) to Duracell for their groundbreaking video “Trust Your Power” featuring Derrick Coleman of the Seattle Seahawks. CHC’s Executive Director, Laurie Hanin says, “By telling Derrick’s personal story and highlighting his success in the NFL despite being deaf, the video, which has been viewed more than 20 million times, has redefined for millions what’s possible with hearing loss. Each day at CHC, we see people of all ages who are deaf and hard of hearing thrive when they get the services and support they need to hear and communicate effectively. That’s a story the public is now learning thanks to Duracell.”
Founded in 1910, CHC is a historic pillar of support for New Yorkers who are hard of hearing, deaf, and deaf-blind. The organization’s spectacular annual gala, The Feast, uniquely taps into a caring team of prominent NYC broadcasters and institutions passionately supportive of CHC’s services that change the lives of individuals and families struggling with hearing loss and communication challenges. Hosted once again by Bill Ritter of Channel 7 Eyewitness News and ABC News 20/20, The 21st Annual Feast on November 3, 2014 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, will place the often-overlooked issue of hearing loss in the spotlight and illuminate a world without limits made possible by this nonprofit agency’s extraordinary public service.
The Feast, presented in cooperation with Wine Spectator, is a grand culinary gala benefiting CHC’s programs and services for people who have hearing loss and listening challenges. As is Feast tradition, guests will enjoy a walk-around tasting as NYC’s top chefs offer up their specialties. Twenty-five chefs are expected to participate including Chef Chair William Gallagher of Becco Restaurant, Benkei O’Sullivan and Zene Flinn of Park Avenue Autumn, Banks White of Minton’s and Fortunato Nicotra of Felidia. Fine wines will be available courtesy of Stags’ Leap, Ferrari-Carano, Zuccardi, Cesari, Beringer and other wineries of distinction; Emirates will be making a splash pouring 2004 Leoville Las Cases and 1998 Pontet Canet. The walk-around layout gives guests the opportunity to interact with the chefs as well as the many television broadcasters who will be lending their support by acting as sous chefs. Broadcasters planning to attend this year’s Feast include the familiar faces of Bill Ritter of Channel 7, Kaity Tong of PIX11, Carole Owens of Channel 4, Sade Baderinwa of Channel 7, Shelley Goldberg of NY1, Lisa Evers of Fox 5 News, and Tamsen Fadal of PIX11 among many others helping to serve savory signature dishes by an extraordinary line-up of all-star chefs.
